Trump Today: Trump Today: President attacks Comey as report finds he mishandled Clinton email probe

President Donald Trump renewed an attack against former FBI Director James Comey on Thursday, as he also blasted a suit brought against him and his foundation.

SLAP AT COMEY AS REPORT COMES OUT

Trump railed against what he calls the “witch hunt” Russia investigation, and included a jab at Comey in one of his tweets. His tweet came as a watchdog report sharply criticized Comey over how he handled the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server — but found no evidence that the probe’s conclusions were affected by bias.

“So, the Democrats make up a phony crime, Collusion with the Russians, pay a fortune to make the crime sound real, illegally leak (Comey) classified information so that a Special Councel [sic] will be appointed, and then Collude to make this pile of garbage take on life in Fake News!” Trump tweeted.

‘I WON’T SETTLE THIS CASE!’

Shortly after New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood announced a suit against Trump, the Trump Foundation and three of his adult children, the president said on Twitter, “I won’t settle this case!” The suit alleges the foundation has been in “persistent violation of state and federal law governing New York State charities.”

It is seeking to dissolve the foundation and fine the Trump family members, as well as bar any of the foundation’s board members form roles at any New York nonprofit.
