The New York Post: Two dead as police helicopter crashes on Charlottesville, Va., outskirts

A Virginia State Police helicopter crashed Saturday near the site of a violent white-supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., according to local news reports.

The chopper plummeted to the ground near the Birdwood Golf Course after neighbors saw it hovering closely over houses, the Charlottesville Daily Progress reported.

A live stream of the scene posted to Facebook by the Daily Progress shows a massive gathering of police officers around the site.

Officers guarding the scene would not confirm who or what was involved, according to the Daily Progress.
