Key Words: Here’s what Sean Hannity revealed about his ties to Trump lawyer Michael Cohen

Fox News host Sean Hannity said on his show Monday night that he had no reason to divulge the fact that Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, also represented him.

His guest, though, begged to digger.

“I really think you should have disclosed your relationship with Cohen.”

Alan Dershowitz, to Sean Hannity

“I have the right to privacy,” Hannity said to his guest, attorney Alan Dershowitz. “It was such a minor relationship.”

“You should have said that,” said Dershowitz, a frequent Hannity guest.

Hannity is an outspoken supporter of Trump, and last week lambasted the raid on Cohen’s office, home and hotel room.

Aside from Dershowitz, many media critics said Hannity should have disclosed his relationship with Cohen due to the potential conflict of interest.

Cohen has just three clients — Trump and embattled Republican fundraiser Elliott Broidy are the others — and Cohen had sought to keep Hannity’s name confidential. A judge ruled otherwise earlier Monday.

On his show, Hannity played down his dealings with Cohen.

“Michael Cohen never represented me in any legal manner,” he said. “I never retained his services, I never received an invoice. I never paid Michael Cohen for legal fees. I did have occasional brief conversations with Michael Cohen. He is a great attorney about legal questions I had, or I was looking for input and perspective.

“My discussions with Michael Cohen never rose to any level that I needed to tell anyone that I was asking him questions. To be absolutely clear, they never involved any matter, any — sorry to disappoint so many — matter between me or third party, a third group at all. My questions exclusively almost focused on real estate.

“So in response to all the wild speculation, I want to set the record straight here tonight. I never asked Michael Cohen to bring this proceeding on my behalf. I have no personal interest in this legal matter. That’s all there is, nothing more.”
